From abroad?
We’re excited that you’re keen to learn more about our beautiful part of the world.
The province of Nova Scotia is a peninsula situated on the east coast of Canada, known for its quaint towns, ocean views and natural spaces, with an estimated 2025 population of over 1 million people. The capital city is Halifax, a 1.5 hour drive from the Aberdeen Hospital in New Glasgow.
Nova Scotia has over 13,300 km of coastline, with many beaches, walking trails, and coastal towns to explore. In fact you’re never more than 67 kilometers (42 miles) from the coastline no matter where you are in the province (even closer when you’re in Pictou County!) As it notes on our license plates, we are Canada’s Ocean Playground, with year-round outdoor activities which are easy to access, whether you enjoy hiking, swimming, or just spending time in nature. Explore our coast and everything it has to offer here: Coastal Nova Scotia, and don’t forget to check out our 360° to explore our coastline and more, yourself!
